§ 46-20. Permitting of logging operations within the town limits.

  • Prior to the beginning of operations, the logging contractor shall acquire a permit for logging operations to be conducted within the town limits. The permit application shall be obtained from the town clerk and all permits shall be authorized only by the signature of the mayor. For purposes of the section, the term "logging operations" means any operation instituted for the purpose of timber clearing, development purposes or logging for the purpose of sale of said logs and shall include cutting and/or thinning of timber on any tract of land within the municipal town limits. The proposed cutting of more than five trees with a diameter at least 15 inches or greater shall create a rebuttable presumption that the activity is a "logging operations."
